Summary

Make people decisions with the whole business in view.

People decisions are business decisions, and they need the same context. In our live poll, most attendees said their people data is only partly connected to their finance and business data. In this final session of our AI in HR and People Ops series, we show what changes when it all lives in one place.

Working in a demo company, Ian White, ChartHop's CEO and Founder, coaches a new enterprise sales rep using his resume, HR record, CRM pipeline and call transcripts together. He brings the ChartHop agent into a Slack conversation with an HR business partner, explains the permissions and guardrails that keep sensitive data safe, and builds an agentic action that sends coaching notes after every sales call.

Part of a four-session series

This is Session 4 of 4, the last in the series. Catch up on the earlier sessions on demand: AI 101 for HR and People Ops, Getting Real Value from the AI You Already Have and Putting Agentic AI to Work.

Key Takeaways
  • People decisions are business decisions.
You can't make a good decision about your people without the full context. ChartHop brings people, revenue, finance and operations data into one living model of the organization, so AI agents can work across all of it safely.
  • Match the level of AI to the decision.
Ian uses four modes: human-led for anything that affects someone's employment, AI-assisted where people set the direction and AI speeds it up, AI-led with human review, and fully AI-run for operational work like data quality checks.
  • Coaching gets better with business data.
By combining a rep's resume and HR record with CRM pipeline data from HubSpot and call transcripts from Gong, Ask ChartHop flagged at-risk deals, suggested focus areas for a one-on-one, and checked whether the coaching showed up on his next call.
  • Bring the agent into the conversation.
Tag ChartHop in a Slack thread and it reads the conversation, pulls the data it needs and joins the discussion. It can then write up the thread as HR notes and save them to the employee's profile.
  • Set the guardrails first.
An agent never sees more than the person asking it. By default, sensitive data only appears in DMs or channels you authorize. You can also limit an agent's access, for example no compensation data, and block topics such as departures and turnover.
