Summary

See what the AI already in your HR platform can do.

AI is now built into most HR platforms, but for many teams it still feels like a side feature instead of part of the daily work. In this second session of our AI in HR and People Ops series, we skip the theory and show it in action.

Working in a demo company, Pilar Muner, ChartHop's VP of People and Talent, uses Ask ChartHop to work through four kinds of tasks, from simple to more advanced: getting to data, changing it, analyzing it and creating something new. Along the way she answers live questions about data privacy, governance and integrations, and explains what to look for in any HR platform, whether or not you use ChartHop.

Part of a four-session series

This is Session 2 of 4. Session 3, Putting agentic AI to work, is on Friday, October 23 with Justin Garrity, ChartHop's VP of Product. Register once to join the rest of the series live, or catch each recording here afterwards.

Key Takeaways
  • Start by asking.
The easiest way in is to ask a plain-language question, like "Which new hires started this summer?", instead of building a report. Pilar started using ChartHop with AI first, and most of what she showed happened in a single chat window.
  • AI can fix data, but you approve the change.
When Pilar spotted a wrong start date, she asked the AI to update it. It showed her the details and waited for her approval before changing the record.
  • Use AI for the reading you never had time for.
Reading every self review, manager review and 360 by hand doesn't scale. AI can review a whole cycle for rating rigor and feedback quality. Pilar pays most attention to how self ratings compare with manager ratings, and how initial ratings compare with calibrated ones.
  • Ask two security questions about any HR AI.
First, does the AI follow the permissions you already have, or do you have to set them up again? Second, when the AI changes something, is there an audit log that shows it?
  • Let AI write the first draft.
Pilar would rather edit than start from a blank page. She had the AI build a leadership dashboard and a new engagement survey, and it checked the rating scales already in use so the new survey stayed consistent.
Agenda
  1. Where HR teams are with built-in AI today (live poll)
  2. Access: finding people data by asking in plain language
  3. Change: updating a record from chat, with approval
  4. Analyze: reviewing a full performance cycle for rating rigor and feedback quality
  5. Create: building a leadership dashboard and an engagement survey from chat
  6. Live Q&A on data privacy, permissions, governance and integrations
