Building processes and workflows is one of the most exciting parts of being in People Ops. But it can also be one of the most frustrating, when you’re trying to bend a solution to meet your needs and it’s just not working.
For self-proclaimed builders like Amie Taylor, finding a configurable solution that can do exactly what they want it to can be a game-changer. In her current role as Senior Director of People Operations, Rewards, and Technology at a technology industry provider, Amie uses ChartHop to fulfill this need.
We recently sat down with Amie to learn more about her experience using ChartHop. Here’s what she had to say.
ChartHop: What do you find most valuable about ChartHop?
Amie Taylor: The ease of configuration is the most valuable part of ChartHop to me personally. I’m a builder, so I like to build processes and workflow from scratch, and I was able to do that easily with ChartHop.
ChartHop is also simple to understand. You don’t need to know SQL, or have a special certification, or even understand data tables to figure out how to use it, which makes a big difference.
CH: What’s something exciting you’re currently building with ChartHop?
AT: Right now, we’re building a community in ChartHop, touting it as our “community and engagement tool” for celebrations and to help employees learn about each other.
For example, we use an “About Me” form when new hires start, which helps our remote-first people learn about each other. It’s especially helpful for new hires to learn a bit more about someone before they go into a meeting with them.
CH: How do people outside of the People team use ChartHop?
AT: Currently, FP&A is the team outside of the People team that uses ChartHop the most. They use it for requisition management, including budgeting and forecasting, and we built attrition dashboards for board reporting as well.
That said, I’m working on doing more to get our leaders into ChartHop because there’s so much potential, especially when it comes to reporting. Our HR team isn’t made up of enough business analytics experts, so it’s not easy to deliver reports to the business for every ad hoc need and request, but ChartHop can help us satisfy those requests. It’s easy to build a datasheet in ChartHop, and then we can even sync that to Google Sheets if we want, so that’s an area where we can use ChartHop to really fulfill a business need.
CH: What would you say makes ChartHop different?
AT: The customer service model is a key differentiator for ChartHop. The team really helps us think about creative solutions for different ways to use the platform, which is very unique. I’ve worked with many other HR solutions, and none of their teams think about how to push their product in new, creative ways like ChartHop does.
CH: How would you describe your experience working with ChartHop?
AT: The customer experience with ChartHop is second to none, and I think that’s what really sets ChartHop apart. The care that the ChartHop team puts into customer relationships and each customer’s success really shows. I’m also confident that ChartHop will be able to support us long term because the team innovates the platform so much.
